My dear uni friends threw me a surprise 20th birthday party for me last night! How cool is that? Haha! It seems that Jen has been organising this party for a while. I was suspicious at first, because she said something about the 1st of July, and she mentioned it when it was approaching my real birthday. But as it came nearer to the 1st, I grew less and less suspicious about it, as she was acting well enough for me to think that I was going out for dinner with her only. So there, I was, finishing work at about 5pm.Quite tired after a long day at work. Talked to Seiko on the way home as I was bored. Reached home, took a quick shower, and attempted to wear some nice clothes for the dinner. Then, I took a train to Burwood, where Jen had asked me to meet her. She then drove me to this restaurant where we parked opposite it. She then asked me to go and walk in the park next to us. It was really weird, just both of us walking at night, and I was wondering what’s going on here. I thought my friends might be waiting in the park, waiting to surprise me, but I was wrong. She then suddenly turned around and started to bring me to the restaurant. And as I was looking through the glass walls, there they were, my uni bunch of friends, in 2 tables! I just couldn’t believe it! 16 of them were all there, and I was so happy I just couldn’t say anything! Haha! I’ll attempt to list down everyone who’s there: Jen, Golda, Wing-Kei, Ariel, Jonathan, Katherine, Chris, Kitty, Leo, Andrew, Daisy, We also had the following for dinner: Soup (dunno the name), sweet and sour pork, lemon chicken, honey prawns, satay beef and vermicelli, ma po tau hu, bak choi, fried rice, mango pudding, fruits and kuai leng ko. Not bad, and everyone was kind enough to foot the bill w/o me paying. Feel guilty but apa nak buat, forced not to pay =P I was really happy throughout the whole thing, just smiling all the way, having fun, laughing and making lots of jokes, taking lots of pictures and posing away! And of course there was the birthday cake, which was quite nice, with fruits on it and a bit of cream. Then, Chris used his ‘magic’ birthday candles. Basically, you just can’t blow these candles out. If you do manage to blow them out, they’ll self-ignite again. Had to blow it over and over again, then in the end everyone didn’t want my saliva on the cake, so they soaked the candles in the tea-cup haha! Was really quite full in the end, as I was the one finishing up most of the food (as most of my friends back home in m’sia know I always do!) I was the last to leave the restaurant as I went to the toilet before I exited. And when I did, my friends were all out there waiting to pop those confetti-like things from those bottle things haha! Jen wanted to go for some coffee together, but it was kinda late, so we all started to head off home. I just want to say a big thank you to Jen, and Wing-Kei for organising all of these. I’m really happy and touched that everyone was nice enough to come and pay for the dinner. I also wanna say thanks for the wonderful presents =D it was really great, and words just can’t describe last night, it was AWESOME! Thanks everyone! |
